I’m so tired of criminals getting off with a slap on the wrist. It seems like nothing anyone does is bad enough for jail time any more. It’s no wonder people are testing the limits of the judicial system by committing far worse crimes after not being jailed for the ones they’ve already committed. A life could have been saved in this case had this idiot been in jail from the get go. Now, if only he is sentenced to some hard time. I’d like to see how this plays out – whether he gets 5 years or LIFE.

Politicians,
Eliminating probation and parole for violent offenders, would reduce violent crime by 60-70%. No room in prison? Release and parole nonviolent offenders. I’d rather have a thief on the loose, than a murderer.

mother probably didn’t want to testify or was not a good witness for the state in the initial case , maybe house arrest was with mom? , maybe she is the latest victim , no innocent people hurt , system worked great .

His minimum sentence from the worksheet was 3 years with a maximum of 20 years. How this person managed to get 12 months of community control and 24 months of probation is hard to fathom, considering his criminal history and obvious disrespect for the rule of lay. 5-10 years of prison would not have been out of the question.

Had he been given life, this would have never happened. Stiff penalty? Some would argue the sentence. The man facedown in the driveway would differ.
