I too, hope there is an investigation. As I mentioned before of my observation of that one train, I don't think that I am exaggerating when I say that it was moving at about 35 to 40 mph. Non-passenger trains (freight) are designated into different classes with different speed limits, starting at 10mph. I would hope that the investigation of this accident will include determining the class of train and track and the speed of the train at impact. @David

I cross those train tracks several times during a week, and truthfully they give me the willies. I have only seen one train come by, but that train was in a real big hurry right there in the middle of town. It seems to me that those locomotives need to slow down a good bit more while passing through Atmore. Any other observations from the readers,? Just curious if anyone else has any thoughts about it?
