ADEM would seem to have the responsibility to test the water; not the city of Atmore although it would be good if they tested it too.

One way to register to receive alerts is to go to site floridadisaster.org… In the upper right corner, click or touch MENU with the 3 bars on the top. It will bring you to the Alert Florida Statewide Notification Initiative. In the section of the middle start typing your County/City. For me, all I did was typed “Esc”, then a list came up with my location. Century was the 1st on the list.. Hope this helps.

@CW nor did we receive an alert! We live less than a mile east of Tiger Sulfur. This is the 2nd time it’s burnt in the last 6 years. Last time it killed trees around the plant and Golf Course. This time it probably made it to the creek just east of it. Story states that the liquid was running down the hill. Sure Hope Florida HazMat will test the water of the creek since it flows over into Florida. Don’t bet on Atmore testing it.

CW, I was thinking the same thing. I’m about 3 miles from there. Crazy. And my daughter lives in FL. Just down the road. She didn’t receive any alerts either.

This FL resident nor his wife got an alert on our cell phone either. How can we get on the emergency alert system for our area?

This FL resident 1 mile from state line did not receive any alert.

Funny how Florida residents received an alert yet I live one mile away (in AL) and I received nothing.
