Why was Old Chemstrand Rd not included? Old Chemstrand Rd is heavily used by semis transporting goods to Solutia and other nearby companies. Driving this short span of road, you will see a park, a golf course, and
joggers dodging traffic. Again, I’m asking, why was Old Chemstrand Rd excluded from the sidewalk project?

I have lived in a few states and by far this county is the worst for pedestrian safety. They’re always so quick to build houses but yet dismiss all safety measures for the home owners and their families. I have never lived anywhere where sidewalks were almost non existent. I’m glad they finally finished one but I’m guessing it took about 10 years? I mean that seems the norm here.

I’ve been waiting six years for them to start their listed project for sidewalks on Ten Mile Road ?!! Didn’t they just spend millions on the dam or whatever it is on Chemstrand and then it collapsed after Sally?!?! Can we please get to work on necessary projects that have been placed on the back burner? I mean sidewalks are very important around a cluster of elementary schools !!!

Sure would be nice to have included the section beginning at Johnson Ave. rather than 9 Mile road that way the Children that live on that section would have nice sidewalks to walk on and wait for the school buses.

Considering that there have been people who have driven motorized wheelchairs down Chemstrand in the road….yes, this is much safer for everyone. You can’t make people pay attention while driving. I once saw a girl driving in the turn lane next to me putting on mascara! She was weaving pretty good.

Not sure why they call it safety? The curb is the sidewalk edge and wont take much for one to be run over by a driver on the phone or avoiding a squirell!
