He will still get his pension. Once it vests, it can’t be taken away, especially since he retired before the conviction.

They often agree to lower sentences when the guilty go ahead and admit it without the cost and risk of a trial.

I haven’t found what the typical sentence is but under law, the maximum sentence for lying to the FBI is five years unless it involves terrorism. For example, Martha Stewart spent five months in a minimum-security prison in West Virginia (where my nephew works) and two years on supervised release, of which, five months were on home confinement, and she was fined $30,000.

Revenge doesn’t take twenty years to obtain or usually even five or one. Generally the consequences of a felony conviction itself are sufficient punishment as others have pointed out.

(A certain former president’s lawyers don’t want him to testify because he is unable to speak without lying. They are working hard to keep him out of prison.)

He was convicted of only lying NOT THE CRIME AGAINST THE ELDERLY. 1 YEAR AND 1 DAY is more than what Bill Clinton got for lying in COURT!. and he was the president!!!!!

The reporting is correct. The “title” (that’s called a headline) is also correct. Read the story again, carefully, where his rank and the photo are explained.

He will not be able to get his pension since he’s now a convicted felon, misusing his badge of office. He won’t be able to carry or own a weapon or vote, among other things. He’ll be known as a bad cop, a thief, a liar and an abuser of the elderly. Looks like he’s headed for a long, lonely road to hoe and rightly earned.

He knows the law and should have been demoted to the lowest rank possible, lose a large portion of his retirement based on the offense and be used as an example to the public. I have and show NO leniency to those who are in “law enforcement” and “know the law and refuse to obey the law.

Wow, if they would only question all of them, maybe we could get rid of all the liars. Especially Escambia county. I personally know of one in Escambia county lied right straight to the judge! I sure wish that judge had made him serve time. Using his official position to harm someone else by his lies!
