That turn lane needs a red arrow not a green light, When you are trying to turn north and there are vehicles in the turn lane to go south you can not see oncoming traffic. most of the wrecks ther are from that. i have had close calls myself there, i do not turn if cars are in the south turn lane.

Please please please put police on this stretch of road for speeders. I can’t tell you how fast they go and you turn and think you have time and they are speeding. I am not
Talking about this case but more and more accidents are going to happen.9 mile in general has become treacherous.

@ Robin ….. There are lots of unlicensed drivers in Florida. From a Forbes article in November 2020 indicated 27% of the Florida drivers or UNLICENSED. And those without a license in all likelihood also dont have insurance. And if involved in a traffic crash, will most likely flee the scene if possible…..

A quote from the article reads:
“Florida has the distinction of having the highest percentage of uninsured motorists, according to the Insurance Research Council, at about 27%. And compounding the problem is that many of these motorists—nearly 2 million—are driving with a suspended license, which has usually been revoked due to unpaid fines.”

I thought the same thing – 2 wrecks on 9 Mile Road and both were caused by unlicensed drivers. The innocent parties have to use their own insurance for pay for medical costs and damages to their vehicles. Something is wrong with that picture!
