There is a very, very good reason this loser in NOT allowed on computers and other devices and he knows it! Why would he mind a search of his computer if he is innocently looking for work?

This person was already convicted of “traveling to meet a minor to commit an unlawful sexual offense and using a two-way device to facilitate a felony.”

If it involved your child or a child you love would you still remain so flippant?

I think that Steve has a very reasonable idea. Now, for this former doctor, if he has nothing to hide he should have allowed the officers to inspect his computer. Either way, it was going to be confiscated and assessed. If it was being used legitimately, his cooperation may have mitigated his penalty for violating his probation. He keeps making poor choices- not too smart.

Not taking sides, but life is more and more gravitating toward nearly everything that we do is calling for us to be controlled in more and more ways by computers. Was this man simply carrying out work related duties on the computer, or was he actually involved in child porn? If it was only work related, then let him alone; but if not, then shame on him for he knew better.

While I certainly don’t take the side of the criminal, it sure seems strange that, in an age where EVERYTHING is done via computer (even looking for a job is often required to be done ONLINE), terms of probation would be NOT being able to use ANY computer?

Here’s an idea; since Law Enforcement has all these cyber experts, why not allow the guy to have a restricted computer? One that only allows access to websites for the purposes of work or communication with law enforcement. Heck, even require that the criminal on probation, have a computer that is constantly monitored by law enforcement. At least you allow the good use of the technology, while preventing access to the bad.

What if Law Enforcement sees him using a smart phone? Is that the same? Heck, even illegals are given those FOR FREE!
