John Doe : Planned, because material , labor shortages and high prices slow the WORLD economy - people will not voluntarily cut back using resources and make do with less. Who came up with this plan and is monitoring subtle enforcement of the Green Deal - I don’t know. It’s not America - we are only a player that joined the team

It’s not just enough to have a competency board. The current inspection process has become a matter if who you know and have done favors for in the past to get approved. Electrical inspectors spend zero time actually looking at the work, plumbing inspectors just saying “oh he’s always done good work so I really don’t need to look very much” and actual building inspectors getting favors from builders instead of doing what they’re paid to do. Competency? How about clean the whole house(literally) and require even seasoned builders and repair businesses to recertify under more strict rules instead of just being “trusted”? The good old boy system is as bad with builders as it is with the current “popular” road repair business that seems to magically get most of the work.

With this planned labor and material shortage right now contractors and customers alike are jumping hurdles. whoever will volunteer to oversee complaints will have their hands full. When longtime established contractors don’t or can’t completely finish a job (not enough workers, no parts, no subcontractors?) they forfeit the final payment of their contract. the loss of thousands upon thousands of dollars will force many out of business sooner or later.

Good luck with that. With the comment from District 3 commissioner about firing everybody, who would want that position.
