And what is the purpose of this “hotline”? What is a “contractor related issue”?

Is it the county’s intent to become an intermediary or arbitrator in disputes between a contractor and client? Is the purpose to complain only about unfinished work, or about past mistakes against a builder in an otherwise completed and approved structure with a certificate of occupancy? Will a verbal complaint be recognized, or will the staff refer a caller to a form to fill out? Is this an attempt to simply slow down a law suit in order to give an end around extension to a contractor?

Can a citizen call about a newly installed window that just doesn’t close properly? Or is this only about “big issues”? Where are the boundaries?

We have a court system that allows for lawsuits. If a contract is violated, and the parties cannot work it out, why would you call this hot line? What would it solve?Simply file a lawsuit. If laws are written correctly, a judge and/or key could decide if a contractor license should be revoked against a party on a statewide, not county by county, level.
