Smart people lock their doors. This is why the manufacturers put the locks on car doors. Yeah, it would be nice if we didn’t have to, but that’s not the world we live in, never was.

We should NOT shoot thieving scum to teach them a lesson.
That would just be a side benefit at best.
It was nice of the owner to not shoot the thieving scum.
Maybe he will meet someone just as nice next time and the next time and the next time as he steals from them what they have worked for and earned…until his luck runs out.
We should only shoot people to kill them, or not at all because every shot is potentially lethal.
We should never point a gun at anyone unless we are willing and intending to shoot and kill them, because it may come to that.
Learn that lesson right now.

No, the lesson not to steal should have come LONG ago.
Either it wasn’t taught or just didn’t take root.

You are correct.

But entering an unlocked vehicle doesn’t sound like a felony. Florida overdoes the felony designation imo. There are severe lifetime consequences to a felony rap that are often disproportionate to the crime committed.

BTW – everyone knows that the hand cutting off thing is Sharia Law right?

Sooo the felony was “felony vehicle burglary,” the lighter theft got him “misdemeanor petit theft”

I do not agree that we should all lock are doors and cars. Its a sad day when you are blamed for not locking things up. There are countries where if you steal they cut your hand off. Cuts way down on stealing, with that hand anyway.

Why is a 2 dollar theft a felony?

And shooting someone for breaking into your car is a good thing? I’m all for 2nd amendment but learned never point unless you intend to kill. People seriously think confronting someone in your car when you are not personally threatened and then getting to kill them is justified?
