I had time to look in the rear view and see that semi truck coming for quite some time. I had no where to go and I watched him slam into me from behind. I have no idea how my family and I are still alive.

We were driving I10 East right after it happened. So grateful there were no life threatening injuries because it certainly looked like it could have been!

M. Engeseth Ummm ,they DID just recently redo the 29 exchange. We’ve been here for over 12 years (Milton) and went to HWY29 to go the Chinese restaurant weekly. They put in a substantial turn lane on 1-10, put two merge lanes and extended them and separated North and South exits. MUCH better than what it used to be.

I would like to publicly thank the great people at the Ensley firehouse/EMS (I hope I got the right) for the help, kindness and professionalism they showed me and my family when we really needed help. Anyone who lives in the area served by these professionals should be proud. The highway patrol and local police were great as well.

I was caught in the weather as well, I seen atleast 3 cars with no lights on during that heavy rain that may have played a part into that accident. Visibility was horrible and yes vehicles were speeding as well, all I could do was slow down and pray.

If you do the speed limit or anything close to it around Hwy 29 exits, people are flying past you or tailgating. Which lane you’re in doesn’t matter. The speed limit doesn’t change back to 70mph until you get around the curve a little further west. I’m glad the injuries were limited. My family member was heading home from working downtown and I caught them before they got on the interstate. Their car was being hit by small hail on Airport Blvd near Palafox just after this accident had happened.

AND they want to put a diamond interchange at pine forest and I-10???? Folks can’t even drive on a straight lane without crashing into one another.

I imagine it was caused by someone driving with their emergency flashers on who decided to change lanes or slow down quickly but due to the flashing the person behind them had no idea what their intentions were.
If you are so scared that you need to turn your flashers on, get off the road and reconsider your role in society
