How can someone bring a church into this? That is a pun below the belt. The focal point is someone abused a child, not the church and to try to put responsibility on how a church feels, is totally out of context with the whole scenario.

There are better ways to get a fit throwing child up off the floor, but to some they may be considered child abuse as well. I have seen, many times, the problems that occur with stepchildren and parents. It can be very frustrating for the stepparent, especially when the “You aint my daddy” or “you aint my momma” start flying. On the other hand, it can be a very difficult, and /or dangerous situation for the child when there is an abusive stepparent. I would rather see LEOs lean on the side of caution towards the child until they have all the facts. I hope things work out for this family.

My post was to highlight that in our country “the United States of America” this type of abuse is not condoned or legal, and that in several countries i have traveled to it iss legal to abuse your children and wife.
Saying God Bless America is a way of being thankful for not living where abuse is legal.
Do you always look to demean people who post? Your post was in itself abusive.. all you needed to do for me to clarify my post was to simply ask me to do so.

I could cry reading this article “requested to be taken to the hospital “so he could be safe”! That broke my heart! This child should NEVER be returned to that home!
Punishment was warranted but kicking a child..NEVER warranted!
Wonder if his “church” condones this behavior? I pray not.

I wouldn’t even dignify a response to your ignorance, I pray you did not bring children into this world with that same stupid attitude!

In no way am I condoning hurting a child.
But having been the step parent of a manipulative pre-teen, the kid made a lot of false accusations that turned our lives into a living hell. Social services can’t tell what’s true and what isn’t. The accompanying officer that visits has ZERO authority in a visit.

What?? So we are condoning abuse if the child disobey’s? I sure hope you don’t have children. There is a big difference between abuse and punishment and being kicked on the arm causing a bruise is not punishment!

So with your thinking it is okay to beat your significant other if they don’t do as you wish? Somebody should let the police know so that they can stop responding to domestics and putting themselves in unnecessary danger.
