All of this whining about civilians not being able to access NAS Pensacola. The US Navy isn’t your cash cow. There’s an easier way to get there. Get off of your self-entitoed keesters and join the Navy. Some of you sound like.my.ex-wife….take take take and never give. Stop complaining and enjoy the everyday freedom that’s provided to you.

As a local I’ve been to the museum several times… Have no interest in the lighthouse. I would like to have access to Barrancas National Cemetery as I’d like to visit the grave of Geronimo’s wife… Don’t have any family buried there so I wouldn’t have access… It’s a bummer but I understand the safety of NAS staff comes first.

The security of NAS is the responsibility of the commander. He alone makes that decision to open or keep it closed with the input from his security team. It’s easy for folks to say open it up for everybody. The security needed to do that isn’t available at this time to accomplish that. The Commander of NAS Pensacola has enough problems without having to worry every day about who’s coming on his base. Opening it up Saturday June 4 is a security staff nightmare and if something terrible happens they will be screaming why did he open it up. The Commander is the boss.

This one-day offer definitely doesn’t feel welcoming to the community that helped make NAS what it is today. I’ll pass.
