ECUA operates a HUGE money PIT…. They use the board to increase and spend spend spend with little regulations and stewardship…. Need new blood in charge of the checkbook…. review policies top to bottom. Everyone and everything.

“Authoritarian” rule can be a great thing… if the one with the “Authority” is just.
Democracy can be a nightmare if the people voting are all wicked, immoral, and unjust.

Voters simply choose a candidate and if they get more votes, they win.

Well if the ECUA can have term limits then we need to push to have our government with term limits. Let get some of the trash taken out.

The policies that are in place are because of the board and this trickle’s down to the staff. I know a few people that work there. Their biggest concern is pay and the age of equipment especially in sanitation. The ECUA board needs to look long and hard at both of these issues. You want better customer service it comes with competitive pay. Which will attract quality staff. The sanitation driver I know said the equipment is old and breaks down often. They said the average down time for a breakdown is 3 to 4 hours. When the A/C fails in the truck it gets patched at night just to fail again the next day. Which has led to drivers quitting. They also said when they have to sit that 3 to 4 hours in the heat has driven drivers away as well. That said in order to get higher pay and new equipment it cost money which the board is afraid to increase rates because they want your vote. So you want better service fix these 2 issues and I bet there attitudes will change.

That’s a beautiful thing. I work with Water departments throughout this region and ECUA is difficult, rigid, and they did not care how much their policies costs customers. They act like they are all powerful and they get what they want.
