Dave Simpkins is right in his comment. It’s almost a foregone conclusion that these two “children” will likely get a sweetheart plea deal and probably probation with anger management class – which they will probably violate several times all in the name of “restorative justice” before a judge has no choice but to actually take them off the street.

Unfortunately, when you combine the massive number of cases combined with comparatively few assistant state attorneys (i.e. 1 attorney covering over 100+ cases at a time) – and extremely lenient judges (not all though) you get the mess that is this – I am willing to bet that this isn’t these juveniles’ first time in handcuffs. ECSO hands them repeat offenders with good cases but they remain in the street – after taking a deal.

I hope NorthEscambia follows up with this story.

No. The state attorney will only give them a slap on the wrist. These two will be out back in society in just weeks.

Put them in jail for 4 or 5 years and maybe they will learn what they did but probably not. If the judge doesn’t give them some hard punishment the next time their going to do it to the wrong person and their pour parents will be arranging their funeral.

Pathetic the way these kids act. We’re they not taught any morals whatsoever? There should be more charges considering the man’s age. Hope he’s ok.

Likely will be back on streets quickly.
Juveniles not realizing the impact of what they were doing and all.
Lucky the victim was not of a mind to shoot back in legit self-defense.

Charge them as adults. They are old enough to know better. Too bad the gentleman didn’t use his 2A stand your ground rights.
