Buy your own roofing supplies,use the same guys that do other buildings repairs you are paying them anyway.(it’s like this if roofing supplies cost 150,000 the job 300,000 or more) use your own maintenance crew they will love the overtime and you will the save tax payers money.

The average cost for roof should be $4000 – $5,500 per 1000 sq. ft. this contract is for $45,175 per 1000 sq.ft.over (8) times the amount. What is wrong with this picture. This contract should be reviewed

Wow… who’s friends brother-n-laws cousin got a nice contract with the county resently? That’s some serious dough for that job . Looks like more contractors need to look into where the county list their jobs and start bidding on them . They are giving you reference amounts in this article just bid a few thousand under these numbers , win the bid and still walk away smelling like a rose….

This is long over due. The need for a new roof was identified over 6 years ago. Budget constraints kept it on a back burner way too long. The Facilities Maintence Department can only do what it is funded to do. Replacement has been on the annual budget request for years. I am glad the County is finally able to catch up on projects like this.
