It’s not “when their shift is up” by law they are not allowed to move the train after 12 hours on duty. The railroad furloughed most of their employees before and during Covid although Covid did not affect railroad traffic. It was all due to corporate greed. Don’t blame the crew, blame PSR and corporate greed.

It completely ridiculous and uncalled for! CSX has had the crossing blocked on Fairground for nearly 24 hours causing people to miss school and work. This is a frequent reoccurrence and a CSX worker told me himself (previously) that if their shift is ending they have to stop the train and they literally get a railroad taxi service to come get them and the train gets left sitting there til a new crew comes? I don’t know who runs that scheduling but they need to get someone else in their with some sense

For longer blockages, report them to the Federal Railroad Administration. While nothing may happen in the short term, the government uses these reports to establish larger patterns.

It definitely sucks. But one thing a lot of folks don’t realize is that the railroad has higher authority than a public roadway. A certain amount of feet off either side of the track is the railroads property, even on a road crossing. The city/county doesn’t make the say-so to “‘allow’ the railroad to cross their public roadway.” It’s actually the railroad that calls the shots on “‘allowing’ a public roadway access to cross their tracks if they want to.” So yes, they do always have the right of way under federal law and can suspend access if they need to. Unfortunate, but true. And that’s something nobody thinks about when they move into house on a road with a railroad crossing.

Molino crossing is blocked all the time. Children climb over train to get home or to ge on bus. My neighbor is on hospice, no one can help him, because of blockage. No deliveries can be made. Waited 16 weeks for a delivery, but train blocking crossing. Late for work all the time, walking home from work,have to leave vehicle unattended. It all suks, what if we block the train,,we can’t do that. They shouldn’t be able to do to us. Someone will get hurt or worse. Move the TRAIN

So when I go down to champion and block the train from getting to the paper mill will I be arrested or am I wrong about who’s allowed to be put in danger and held captive? CSX has been an issue for years and they are about to be next on the list of companies not allowed to operate in Escambia. Blocking fire trucks ambulances and police for miles and miles because they don’t want to build a train track that vehicles can go under to get to their homes or past champion. It’s an easy fix and should be pushed since they make all that revenue and never do anything to HELP the public they screw daily.

It’s is still blocking this morning. My children had to miss school and I had to miss work. This is ridiculous and we as residents want answers
