It’s amazing seeing people compare schools closings because of weather to doctors not showing up because of rain. Look students can afford to miss a day or two because of the weather. Like I said before there’s not much going on in school right now anyway. And people are really going to resort to name calling over schools closings, really???

I work in a prison. They have no days off for rain, ice, snow. etc. That is real life. What world do you guys live in that shuts down for weather? Have a heart attack and go to an ER and find the MD not there because it’s raining? Right!

Generally it isn’t the rain, it is the lightning and tornadoes. Sometimes the prediction of 80 mile per hour straight line winds lead to closures.

Reading the comments, I can tell which parents are raising future snowflakes! I guess schools should be closed every time it sprinkles, adults and children get a grip, schools do not need to close every time there might be bad weather. Parents if you are that scared, keep your little snowflakes home.

It’s amazing that these days they close schools with even the whisper of “bad” weather. I guess there is no need for the emergency go in the hallway and place your head between your knees testing any longer.

For us they didn’t make any decisions until the morning of school and mostly that was only due to those rare occasions we had snow and ice. Can’t say I ever remember them cancelling school for rain.
