Nothing wrong with that road period.. Most of us have used it safely all our lives… The problem lies with the drivers. Hope the driver is ok

No amount of safety measures can be put into use if people insist on not paying attention and driving like their and other people’s lives depend on it. I just hope that everyone is getting their texts sent off before they crash. It’s entirely possible to not be able to send that all-important text after a rollover like these that are so common lately.

You’re doing the speed limit on Atmore Highway and people tail gate, on a cell phone, and motion for you to go faster. They cross in areas they shouldn’t be passing. However, it is never their fault if they are involved in an accident.

Very glad that the driver is ok. Hwy 97 should have its on website! There would be enough news on accidents to fill one up. I’m so fearful each time that I have to drive this road to the cemetery where by Mom is buried that I feel sure I will be joining her there. Truly sorry for all those have died on this road and all that have been injured. I have read all the arguments each time there is a wreck. Those who blame the road and those who blame the drivers. It seems like it comes down to the basic principle of the seatbelt law, we wouldn’t need one if we would buckle up on our own. It seems like the same principle would apply for roads with high rates of accidents, more safety
measures are obviously needed if we aren’t going to drive safely on our own. Also as a side note having recently had a teenager and other family get their driver’s license in Escambia county fl, it has become waaaaaayyyy to easy to pass a drivers test. There is barely a real skills test anymore. They have gone to very easy multiple choice questions and then sometimes driving only once around the block in a quiet neighborhood. Something needs to change. It would be great if done similar to a pilots license, log so many hrs driving with an experienced driver. Also drivers Ed is not mandatory anymore. I learned a lot in drivers ed many …many yrs ago. Thank you Coach Mosby.

Glad the driver was not seriously injured and that no innocent people were injured or killed.
Sounds like the routine wreck on Highway 97 caused by speeding and careless driving.
