He is now definitely a convicted felon, not just accused of a crime which he may or may not have done. I always think about cases like this whenever someone talks about inmates who should be released because "they only committed a nonviolent crime." They were only CONVICTED of a nonviolent crime. A revolving door that takes 5 years to get through is still a nuisance. He is now definitely a convicted felon, not just accused of a crime which he may or may not have done.

I always think about cases like this whenever someone talks about inmates who should be released because “they only committed a nonviolent crime.”
They were only CONVICTED of a nonviolent crime.
