I have no problem with it being taught in high school. NOT in kindergarten. That’s how I learned about my body, the male body and reproduction. We had to have a signed permission slip from our parents. Boys and girls were in separate classes so they could ask questions without embarrassment.

If you don’t want public schools to teach your kids, that’s perfectly fine. You are more than welcome to homeschool them.

Public school should be about teaching kids the basic skills needed to become a functioning adult in modern society. That includes reading/writing, math, and science.

If you don’t want your child to be taught any of those topics, that’s your choice. The rest of us want our kids to get an education.

Publisher provided curriculum is what schools are using. I’m sure the governor could review all Florida schools curriculum and approve it or not. Once it’s approved by him then parents and such should second review the materials. After all it’s his mandated crisis and no one should have a problem with his approval.
Everyone is a critic of the superintendent and everyone, if you want the job then go for it.
@Beachboy please provide facts and proof this is what the superintendent wanted.

There are grown adults that don’t know their own reproductive organs, let alone those of the opposite sex or peoples who are intersex. Teenagers don’t get access to necessary healthcare because of the “abstinence only” crap that is taught in this county. Diseases like HIV and AIDS still carry debilitating stigma due to lack of and disinformation. Stop clutching your pearls over hypotheticals and focus on the real issue.

Sherrie, your ignorance is overwhelming. I parented two children, because my son works out of town, I am parenting two grandsons. One is in gifted class and other in high school honors class. I am for Trump but also able to parent children! Duh!

This is a badly needed curriculum in our schools. Parents and guardians, please review the materials and provide feedback. I agree with the first two posters in that transgender and other issues should NOT be included in this program. Reproductive health is specific to men or women, not anything else. Disease control is always important. You’d be amazed what these kids don’t know about how disease is spread.

Actually help Students identify the risk of disease and how to prevent them AND pregnancy is the LOGICAL choice rather than letting the parents handle it. We all know you’re too busy bashing anything not Trump to actually parent your Children responsibly. Keep religion and politics OUT of our Schools.

@ Citizen….you are right on with your comment. Now here’s one for the record book. This is apparently what the newly “appointed not elected” superintendent wanted. Being appointed is what the majority voted for. Be careful who or what you vote for. You never know what their agenda is.

Get involved parents and citizens!

Don’t think for one second that this isn’t a doorway which will allow for the introduction of progressive agendas regarding gender fluidity and transgenderism.

And then later when everyone is up in arms, they’ll say, “we asked for your input and no one had any objections”.
