To those believing the amount stated is Post taxes you dont know how the lotto works.

Lump sum is a % of total. If you took the long term payout which is normally 20 years they pay the full, but most dont do that so they reduce the payout .

That’s not the taxes being withheld. That’s the lump sum payout. The 1 million payout is over 20 years. The lump some payout is less. Taxes will take another 100-200k.
