Members of the McDavid family owned the Boutwell home, the Century Welcome Center (owned by my great-grandparents Joseph Parmer Harrison and Fannie McDavid Harrison) and the small house on the third corner. The McDavid family donated the land on the 4th corner to be used as a park, thus the creation of "the roadside park".
