No way the name storms delayed this project for two years. FDOT has liquidated damages in their contracts to ensure jobs are being completed per contract deadline. The only exception is if the FDOT inspector grants weather days then the contract is extended. To be past the deadline by two years means 730 weather days were granted during the contract. ???

Really need to (add) an acceleration lane going from hwy 196west when entering
the passing lane of hwy 29 north. The only other answer is a traffic light which
is what should happen to solve all egress/ingress issues of that intersection!
If you’re turning south from west 196 or north from east 196 it’s fine right now…anything else is dangerous at best !

It would be nice if they’d adjust the traffic signals on 9 Mile at the Highway 29 overpass. Going eastbound on 9 Mile, if you’re trying to turn left (North) on 29, you may be sitting there for a while because the light holds for a ridiculous amount of time (with no crossing traffic).

My problem with it is they built a 6 lane bridge and used 1 side to merge into 2! Overpass should have been deleted entirely and all that mess consolidated into 1 traffic light. Then take that money to 6 lane 29 to Kingsfield where it is needed. In effect, all they did was move the problem at the interstate down the road. And all the crazy dead end lanes?

The shocking part of nine mile road mods was why only two lanes again in both directions. It was the perfect time to add the needed 3 lanes for that section of road.

I have heard it said, that the real reason the 3 year project turned into a 6 year project is the contractor makes a killing on the orange barrels. That’s why once they are in place, they get paid by the day for each of them. The longer out there, the more pay. The barrels are even placed where no traffic is able to go. The inconvenience to the public — be darn! Our tax dollars!
