It’s a choice someone made and they don't or can’t walk away from it. Diabetes, cancer, Ect that’s a disease. I have helped, be used and abused by someone who was addicted to drugs and or alcohol. It’s a hard “situation” to be in. I pray that this grown man can learn from his mistakes and get the help he needs (medically, mentally, emotionally and physically) and become an amazing father to his kid(s). I’m very thankful that he didn’t hurt my 77 year old father in law. Addiction isn’t a disease. It’s a choice someone made and they don’t or can’t walk away from it. Those of you who lump all addicts into one group, you have no understanding of the disease or the people suffering from it, nor is it as simple as you may think. How do you expect someone to ask for help if they are constantly told they should be dead and are worthless? They are people too and it could just as easily be you, whether it's drugs or alcohol.
