Unbelievable some of these comments!!!!! These cases have been dormant for years with no attention to them, now that we have a sheriff who is at least trying people complain about it. The article doesn’t say ECSO only, we may have retired law enforcement in our area from somewhere else that may want to get involved, unbelievable!!!!

I really hope that those guy’s solve the murder of my great late brother Joseph Johnson need of these people in these cold cases deserve what happened to them so I pray that God give officers a sixth sense so to say to bring all these murders to justice Amen

Much advancement has been made in Forensics including DNA and now a huge national data base of DNA exists, collected from every facet of our population. Much of that may not have existed when the crime was considered “Cold Case”.
Example is the identification of military person remains from World War II and the returning of them to families 70+/- years later.

Carl….Totally agree, ‘Closure’ can heal a broken heart for those still waiting and wondering.

I hope they are able to solve the murder of Anna who was picking berries along a roadway and shot. The lowlife that did it must be brought to justice.

True, some of these retired detectives may have worked on some of these cold cases, but with a group working on them there could possibly be new leads , recognized. I m sure if it was our loved ones case was cold we d be glad to have new eyes on the . Just because they re retired does not mean they don t have a lot to contribute.

With all due respect perhaps be grateful they are trying to do this.
Put yourself in a family’s place that has a lost lived one for a minute..I am sure they are thankful to try and find closure in their life.
They have hope…and hope is a good thing.
Being negative helps no one.

I’m not really sure about this. If they are cold cases it means that the retired investigators could not solve them the first time they had the case.
