I totally agree. Someone was on the wrong side of the road. Not saying they were there intentionally but too often people who like to drive in the left lane on four-lane roads forget when they are on a two lane. Make the right lane your comfort zone and many of these accidents can be avoided.

Anything except admit they were wrong, speeding , passing, on the phone or looking around in the floorboard bc they dropped the phone. Or putting on makeup, in the mirror.. I have seen it!! The road is fine. The DRIVERS are the common denominator in all the wrecks in 97.. Excuses : well, the road was wet.. solution: SLOW DOWN
Excuse: Well, it was foggy. Solution:
SLOW DOWN!
Excuse: There was this curve, just didn’t know it was that sharp. Solution: SLOWDOWN!! DRIVE. PAY ATTENTION TO OPERATING THE VEHICLE!!
Sadly, these days, you must watch the other driver too..That phone call, text makeup, ALL that can wait..Take responsibility for YOUR DRIVING! Simple as that..

The only way this happened was for someone to be on the wrong side of the Road or turned in front of.
Passengers side on both vehicles.
Nothing to do with the Road either way.

There is nothing wrong with Hwy 97 road. It is the drivers not paying attention, texting, or talking on cell phone, and speeding. Ask county to put speed bumbs in front of several homes on Hwy 97. This would really make the drivers slow down or go around the speed bumps & drive onto your yard.

How many deadly accidents have to happen on a highway until someone IN CHARGE orders an investigation on how to make it safer???? If speeding is the issue or whatever other reason, do SOMETHING to alleviate it. Call ALL of your Representatives!

Glad the kids are ok. I feel for those residents right on that highway, all those who have lost their lives and their families. God bless them.

We live off 97 between the location of this accident and the one Saturday.
Today as I was attempting to make a left turn into my driveway, having come to a stop to avoid oncoming traffic and with turn signal activated the entire time I was approaching my driveway, a van following me had to leave the roadway to avoid hitting me. There is absolutely no way the driver couldn’t have seen me had they been watching the road.

Not the road’s fault. Pay attention. Pass when it’s legal AND you have clear line of sight.

I drive this road frequently along with several thousand who drive it every day with no problems. Driver error is the problem, not roads, lights, law enforcement.

I want to know how in the heck did these cars hit/sideswipe passenger to passenger side…………who was on the wrong side of the road for this to happen? This isn’t the roads fault any more than the head-on was yesterday. This is pure inattention to the task of driving. Somebody needs a license taken away for a while. That’ll get their attention! Hope the kids are okay.

it’s bad everywhere I have been at home so much that when I leave my home to go to the store you have to drive a bit faster people ride your bumper cut you off cuss you out and your already driving 5 mph over the speed limit . over in the bellview area there are some very rude people moving in around here. the only way to solve this issue for the county is a few more stop signs and red lights. but most of all is speed bumps we need thousands of speed bumps that are about 4 feet wide and 10″ in height. repair cost is high so I day speed on baby learn the hard way.
