A one time bonus? No thank you. Not worth it.

If i am coming to work in a high risk, high stress, high COVID job, I want the $2000 bonus EVERY YEAR on November 1st that goes also goes to retirement, so $4,000 each year – 2K in my pocket and 2K to retirement. The days of skimping your county employees that work for next to nothing are coming to an end.

Look at other medium to high, high call volume, high violent crime rate agencies throughout Florida and you’ll see Escambia is far behind.

Right now I work remotely from home. No gas to drive to work, no bogged down traffic, rain, no vehicle miles, no work uniform and extremely low stress work environment and I am safest in my home and I make more than correctional officers/EMTs or deputy even with high risk retirement.

Then there’s minimum wage. A whole nother topic where you can eventually make 15 an hour and not have to worry about a thing but flipping a burger.

Absolutely agree with you Diane!! The ones of us sticking it out should get some kind of bonus or maybe a raise???

Think about it… yes sounds great to ask for money for current employees… but they are getting pushed through the rigor of extra hours and more work load…. So by bringing in new employees, the current employees will have some of the heavy load lifted from their shoulders….

What about the ones that has been there for years, where are their bonuses? You need to take care of them first.
