heading east on hwy 196 and approaching hwy 29 has been improved if turning south on hwy 29 via the acceleration merge lane. If crossing hwy 29 heading towards 95A it can be “dodge ball”. The worst scenario is crossing (essentially 4 lanes ) and then turning north on hwy 29 with NO merge lane and ( if busy ) the “dodge ball effect once again. Now add to the situation the 18 wheelers and log trucks wanting to cross ( essentially 4 lanes) & then a sharp turn left going north on the inside lane (passing) lane of hwy 29. Sixty feet of 18 wheelers stuck out in that is preposterous. unfortunately the only solution is to install a traffic light.

This intersection seems to have more accidents than any other in this area and truly needs a stop light. You’re right, you can’t fix stupid but a light might show stupid just who has the right of way. The light at Molino crossroads may or may not have been necessary but it’s crazy not to have one at 29 & 196!

Someone in the highway developing dept, really, really needs to look at how the turning lanes at this intersection, are very screwed up. I’ve never seen such engineering. Someone made a big mistake. More crashes to come.

Ask Tom Thumb at 97&196 about lights werestopping accidents. They had a bad one last week there.

STOP before yall start screaming for a red light. Atmore Hwy is proof. What we do need is everyone to be smart, alert, undistracted drivers, including myself.

Why is it too much to put a traffic light up at that intersection? So many accidents have happened there. It seems we can’t fix stupid and make drivers be careful without a light so let’s just put one up.

Here comes chicken little and other non driving fools who just can’t live without a traffic light at this intersection. Then you have the other fools who make the decision whether to put a light in who just can’t say no to their fool brethren.
