The record for his senior year was 8 wins 2 losses. Losing to Baker the 1985 State Champions the last game of the season. Only one team advanced to the playoffs then. Steve was a well mannered yes sir, no sir guy even to me his first cousin. He was also a student in my class and he addressed me as Coach Simpson. I am proud to have had a a relationship with Steve beyond just family. Uncle Harold and Aunt Oleta you can be extremely proud of Steve. Cynthia and Gerald you can be proud to have Steve as a brother. Angie to have Steve as a husband. Steve’s children can be proud to,have called him Daddy. I would have loved to,have a classroom full of Steve’s. Some might think it was because his dad was my uncle.
