You get the vaccine to reduce your symptoms and transmission rate if you do contract COVID-19.

The vaccine still works and still does exactly what it is supposed to do. But just because your seatbelt works doesn’t mean you should drive through red lights.

As long as our transmission rate remains high, COVID-19 will continue to spread, and new, more infectious and more deadly variants will continue forming.

Let’s work together as a community to make sure that doesn’t continue happening.

In reply to Mike J. – because of science and how transmission works. You can be vaccinated and still acquire the virus and transmit it to others (who may be unvaccinated) even though your body will be able to fight it enough to not cause a sickness/ giving you symptoms (aka a symptomatic). Vaccinated can still vary and transmit the virus, but the effects will either be minimal or non existent besides the fact of possibly spreading it to others.
Science isn’t political folks, it’s as bipartisan as it gets.

Hey Rufus, For people who have received the “freaking” shot (as you say), then again why wear the mask? For un-vaccinated people? If the virus enters the body of a vaccinated person, that person’s immune system then knows how to kill it. So then, the question is: How does a vaccinated person spread the virus? The Delta version does not spring from someone’s body. It too was created in a lab. I’m sure you can guess as to where. I got the shot and therefore I don’t want to wear the mask anymore.

To answer the question of why you need to wear a mask if you’ve been vaccinated: because too many people refused to get vaccinated or wear a mask, allowing covid-19 to continue to circulate and mutate, which gave us the Delta variant. If foolish people continue to refuse to wear a mask or get vaccinated, there is every possibility that some new strain will emerge that is more deadly and/or that the current vaccines don’t work against at all. Moral of the story: GET THE FREAKING SHOT!

The CDC said on Tuesday that fully vaccinated people can spread the Delta variant and updated its guidelines to recommend masks indoors, regardless of your vaccination status. So why should anyone get the shot? This new round of impending lockdowns will be the end.
