The State could do a lot better if they tried. These gentlemen that enter the lions den every day are not equipt with what they need to properly handle these guys and gals. The system has taken pretty much everything away from the corrections department that they could use to protect themselves when needed. Prison needs to be just that a prison. Ladies and gentlemen who end up in prison are there because they broke the law in some way shape or fashion. While they are in prison what rights they have should be limited. They did not think their actions thru before ending up there. Therefore they should be the ones dealing with less. not the corrections officers. I am glad my son got out when he did. I was not real happy when he told me he was going into that profession but I supported him as a mother should. The state really needs to take a serious look at the problem and handle it in the way that it needs to be handled. Sorry so long but it needed to be said.
