@Citizen,

I'm not vaccinated because my primary doctor, immunologist and rheumatologist ALL say that it would be catastrophic for me to do so. I don't see how that makes me a stupid fool. On the other hand, I DO see how making asinine statements such as "If you are not vaccinated, you are a stupid fool" could, indeed, make you a stupid fool. Not everyone is a candidate for the vaccine, sir.

"People THINK!! WE have businesses, schools, cities, along with the government making people get the vaccine and wear masks. Slowly we are losing freedom over a flu. "

The Supreme Court, in Jacobson v. Massachusetts, ruled that "...individual liberty is not absolute..." when concerning vaccinations. It also said "...mandatory vaccinations are neither arbitrary nor oppressive...".

A present day example of this: your child may be denied entry to school without proof of vaccination.

How do they count new cases. Does the info come from just the hospitals or combined with other sources.

REGARDING:
"Since July 1st, 16% of Baptist’s COVID hospitalizations have been fully vaccinated patients. What?!? 16% breakthrough cases in the hospital in our area doesn’t seem “rare.”"

15.5%, but close enough

20 out of 129 hospitalized did not REPORT they had not been fully vaccinated.
Assume they were, though.
The CDC reported 6,587 COVID-19 breakthrough cases of the fully vaccinated as of July 26, with 6,239 hospitalizations & 1,263 deaths among the more than 163 million people in the United States who were fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

This means less than 0.004% of fully vaccinated people had a breakthrough case that led to hospitalization and less than 0.001% of fully vaccinated people died from a breakthrough Covid-19 case.

Which is to say:
ONE out of every 129,057 vaccinated people died anyway (because it failed them and those around them insisted on infecting them).
In contrast, 36,240 infections in this county have resulted in 706 deaths or more than ONE out of every 52 infections have led to deaths in this county.

An interesting gamble to make.

REGARDING:
"Slowly we are losing freedom over a flu."

That lie still persists, first made by one who never understood just as he never understood that he lost and couldn't lie and cheat his way to victory.

COVID-19 IS NOT THE FLU.

It is a very different disease, caused by a very different virus (not that it will do any good to say so, many prefer lies and liars even if most don't).

Many things limit freedom when it hurts other people, the old saying "My right to swing my fist ends where your nose begins," applies (just so you don't intentionally stick your nose in my business).

Public activities involve other people; that's probably why folks frown whenever I cough and then spit in a crowd. FREEDOM! or FREE-DUMB?

James must be a self taught infectious disease expert. What ignorant statements! It’s this kind of perpetuated ignorance that has us in Escambia county at a 26% positivity rate, and Santa Rosa at 27.6! Get vaccinated people or you will get this virus. That’s now the consensus from the experts. And certainly a good projection here in this state where DeSantis is doing everything to give you the best chance to get it. Guess we should look at the bright side. If the virus takes you will just be one less Repub vote.
