The Longleaf extension has been designed many time over the last 20 years. Here is a link to the latest project design status, but it only goes to Hwy 29 at this time.

These projects are pushed by whichever County Commisioner is in power at that moment in time. Once they leave office, who knows.

True the state purchased the land over 20 years ago. The plan had sidewalks, lighting and drainage. Not sure why the project was not finished?

Maybe this would be a good lead in to a discussion about the Longleaf Connector Project that I attended 3 public meetings for about 15 years ago. It was to connect Blue Angel Parkway at Pine Forest to Creighton Road where it dead ends after crossing I-110. We still need an alternate crosstown connector between 9 Mile Road and Bayou/Brent/Beverly/Michigan/Saufley Field.
