I know somebody whose employer “laid” her off during the pandemic. But she really wasn’t laid off at all. The business owner had her keep working and paid her under the table so the employee could get tax-free income and another $600 a week on top of that and the business owner got a PPP grant. That’s the stuff I am happy to see come to an end. And I’m betting there was a lot more of that in the sunny State of Florida!

What they don’t understand is ALL COMPANIES – ALWAYS just SAY they are hiring, so they have a massive and constant influx of applicants on demand. 90% of the companies posting “hiring” are not actually hiring, and in reality have 1000 applications on file. Anyone who’s had to job search, or worked in HR nows these things. The reality is, most of these commenters & critics have NO idea what they are talking about, because THEY are not having to work through the system and the corrupt companies & government policies. They just open their mouths and say random rhetorical nonsense because they are not beset by hardship and circumstance.

It’s not the unemployment money it’s the 3 600 per child. That is way too much. Why are people getting 20,000 if u have 4 children

Thank god it’s ending! Restaurants have been hiring everywhere! Most of them don’t do background checks ! Quit whining and get back to work and stop using excuses! The money is GONE! Get a job and just stop !!!!!

DeSantis has taken it amongst himself to end the $300 weekly FPUC benefit for everyone collecting unemployment because he assumes that lazy people are not returning to work because they are making ends meet with the $300 a week extra. His assumption may be true for many, I agree that there are plenty of laziest taking advantage of the system. But for good people like myself who have no problem working. My background check cannot pass for 99% of employers because I am wrongfully convicted of a felony as a sex offender. Noone will hire me for gainful employment. I’ve applied hundreds of places, only to be rejected and discriminated against because of what corrupt law enforcement has done to my record. So DeSantis taking away my $300 weekly is unacceptable.

Unfortunately how unemployment change for struggling Americans of which was taken away on June 26th 2021 has made the economy much, much harder and as far as the work places hiring well let’s go there. I am fully dependable abs capable of getting the job in the interview and I AM A RECOVERING ADDICT PROUDLY! I can get the job in the interview and have all the qualifications and pass a drug test but my background is only 6.5 years old from bad choices of friends and these companies have drug users working in there work place without trying to help them get the help they need and just last week I had a job offer with drawn due to my background check. Every work place has a probationary program and sadly I would be the most beneficial to have on board but it would be there loss I have applied for over 500 jobs and this is how Florida employers are and I guess they don’t need the help they are saying they need thank you

It’s honestly crazy the comments I read on here. First when you point a finger two are automatically pointing back just remember that. I am a well qualified individual with management experience in several different areas, also owned my own business for over 15 years. I have children, you see the problem now is places are hiring but see a person like myself lost there home, there car and live in a town with no public transportation. Due to the pandemic. I’ve tried trust me I have even if you do apply alit of these business also got government assistance, which states they stay open now you have put them at an insurance claim part. So taking people’s benefits 2 months before they expire anyways have done nothing but hurt Florida.

Prices are up on everything, but income has dropped; with the economy still being affected with this pandemic. The logic behind this situation is, people will be losing a lot more than bargained for! I’m in for an additional Xtra income stradey for all lower income families!

I didn’t even get the extra $300 for the last 2weeks like I should have or even if it did end I should have at least received one of the last 2 weeks
