The man is mentally ill and needs to do time at an inpatient psych. facility. He can have his medications adjusted, be observed and evaluated, and return to society when it is clear he can function without incident. That is how it works. The guidelines are set according to past arrests, circumstances surrounding the crime(s), etc. Bond for resisting/ battery on an LEO should definitely be raised.
