Bob……………. There are very few drug users being put in prison. that is a falsehood that some like to yap off about. We have hardened dealers and violent criminals that barely get any time.

Biggest issue is front end problems. The TOTAL lack of a family unit… That is the #1 problem.
The other is the acceptance of criminals as some kind of victim. They victimize others but are far from a victim.

Prison is the one place that as a society we expect to pay to keep those criminals away from the good people. Profit or not, they are just the keepers of those no one wants around.

Also when you convicted of a capital offense YOU DIE… Within 2 years MAX.

This case has nothing to do with turning to crime to “provide for his family”. This creature had the same opportunities every person has in life. He chose to “make something of himself” – a murdering criminal. A string of robberies in AL and an attempted murder of his girl friend. An armed robbery with a murder in FL. He chose his path. No one forced or coerced him into it. He found it easier to take, than to earn. Now he is a dependent if the taxpayers, irredeemable as he is. A good man lost his life. We get to support his killer for life. Where is the justice here?

If y’all are really concerned about the cost of holding inmates in prison, maybe we should work on ending for-profit prisons, mandatory minimum sentences, decriminalizing minor drug possession, and creating job training programs to reduce the number of people that have to turn to crime to provide for their families.

Great job by our State Prosecutor! Sincere condolences to the Chiang family. Killing this man was unnecessary. Death penalty in 30 days fits better, especially based on video evidence, no doubt he is guilty!

Stupid country when we have mostly lawyers, as politicians, who set up insane rules, to allow someone 5 years to be found guilty. Especially when he killed so fast and no mercy. All at tax payers expense. Need to take the cost out of their retirement funds.
