Good luck trying to figure out where the money went. What's MORE important- is to go back and look at the different sets of criteria that were given to the two bidders on designing the " new jail" and the resulting aftermath. Also to note- what did the county spend the FIVE MILLION DOLLARS they were given for the mass transit system to address the covid issue/ treatment/ cleanup. I handled purchasing for 8 years for a division of the county. The people who WERE in purchasing were some of the Most driven, dedicated people I had the pleasure of working with in the county. They, like Myself, were driven by being a lifelong resident of the county and making every penny work hard for the residents. This guy thay have hired is a " yes man" hired for that reason. He has a bachelor's; big deal- so do I. He's a " certified public purchaser" ; that + $1.20 will get you a pack of chewing gum. I can ASSURE you that MOST COUNTY EMPLOYEE'S PRODUCE MORE THAN THEIR pay- which is pitiful for the working class. You ( the county) loses more when they hire from outside the county- period.
