AS A POLICE DISPATCHER, MY BIGGEST PET PEEVE IS CALLS TO 911 MADE BY CHILDREN PLAYING WITH MAMA OR DADDY’S PHONE. IF THE PARENTS ARE CHARGED WITH SOMETHING FOR LETTING THIS HAPPEN, THEN THEY WOULDN’T LET LITTLE JOHNNY PLAY WITH THEIR PHONES ANYMORE!!!!!

It would help to further publicize non-emergency numbers such as:

Where to report objects in the travel lane of roads such as tipped over cones, debris, dead animals. These things present a risk as drivers might hit them and have their vehicle disabled causing a wreck and/or drives may jerk the wheel to avoid impact and cause a wreck. We should extend 311 to be a statewide thing providing a menu with access to non-emergency services such as done with Pensacola 311. That way it’s easy to remember, easy to advertise and uniform across the state like 911 is today.

They tell you the 911 line is getting too many non-emergency calls and don’t call unless it’s an emergency; then say if you’re not sure it’s an emergency call 911 and let them decide if you need 911. How would that reduce the number of non-emergency calls? SMH

This needs to be a crime. If you call 911 and are clogging up 911 for non emergency matters, you should be jailed and fined. If you start doing this I bet the nonsense calls stop. My friend works for dispatch in another area and she said it is out of control how much people call with petty arguments and tit for that stuff and a marriage quarrel. “He yelled at me he needs to be arrested”
