>>>Sorry if this is a ridiculous question, but is the last photo attached to this story an old photo? Is it the ‘before’ pic of the one above it?

They were provided by FDOT as being current as of last week.

Amazing to see the Progress, Thanks to all hands and minds that are putting this needed connector back into place and service.
Lots of these "timid" folks will soon be zipping across the new bridge and in a few more months will be fussing about how much traffic there is.
Bridge Workers, Be Safe and Stay Well, Thank you for your work.

I don’t know. I recently watched a show about bridge collapse and learned that even the smallest, seemingly insignificant defect in design, engineering or construction can result in a major collapse...and has. The smallest crack sometimes that might occur and go undetected can be catastrophic. I’m thinking I will wait a long time before using that bridge. I did drive across the completed part prior to the damage from the hurricane. It just seemed to me to be poorly constructed with rough patches of road and an angle (apparently for drainage) that felt uncomfortable to drive on. Nothing like the I10 bridge over Escambia Bay.

We would not be reading this if the executives at big “S” would have done what they were supposed to before a hurricane hit!

I feel for the residents & people who require using the bridge for work, mostly emergency traffic. Hope the bridge is back strong soon.
