That is no excuse for a nursing home being bad though. But I think the profit margin is so low that corners get cut just to stay in busiiness. So we get what we pay for and many of us will end in one. I know of many folks who work in the CNA profession and most of them I hold in high regard. Not all ALF’s are trained and staffed for these kind of individuals, they need special care to keep things like this from happening. Like stated, it’s just a money maker for the owners and the residents are not screened properly. They’ve had patients who are supposed to be under constant supervision escape and start walking down Mobile Highway. All of these nursing homes and ALFs are criminally understaffed and the few staff that do work there are woefully underpaid for the work that is expected of them.
