They are unsung first responder heroes who, like ninjas, use the art of stealth to track and subdue their prey. Most of them can shoot better with their offhand, than troglodytes can with their dominant hand. I once saw one humanely dispatch an unruly trespasser with a single judo chop. Their law enforcement skills aside, that is not all that they are. Once, after a long hard day of work, I was tired and with low blood sugar. A railroad Special Agent saw my struggle...the shakes, the paleness of my skin. He made me a peanut butter and banana sandwich. I could not have made it without him. He asked for nothing in return, except that I keep some carbohydrates handy from then on. May the spirit of Ernest Borgnine bless them all.
