I went that way when the road was closed. Stopped to see what instructions the officer had for the detour. He said are you going to Pensacola? I said Yes. He said follow them. So I followed two cars and an 18 wheeler. Had no idea where I was going. Came out at the store on 97. When I got to the store a state trooper was going by.

Sorry for the loss of life again on Highway 97, the most dangerous highway in north escambia county and the least patroled. The log trucks going north and south on Highway always fly and tailgate. Very sad we keep losing people on that road.

I just found out today about my big homie. We drove log truck together for years here in Selma. He would give u the shirt off his back kinda guy. Im still heart broken. RIP QBALL

@ Puddin 1960….As a former first responder, I would submit that whoever you saw was not bored. He was probably watching approaching traffic, waiting for someone who had completely forgotten they were driving a vehicle, and, distracted by the scene could possibly run into the personnel or equipment attending the incident.

Another observation. You would be amazed at the facial expressions of passersby at a bad incident. Most are curious, maybe horrified. But some have the look of absolute glee, as if it was some type of macabre entertainment. There is a psychological explanation for this, but, primeval and unsettling.

I came upon the accident around noon time, was surprised as there were few emergency markers.

The cab of the truck said it all. Prayers for all involved in this dangerous industry.
