People will simply cross the road wherever they want, and where ever it is convenient. There has been a cross walk at West Florida Hospital for years and people do not use it. They cross at the light, which is convenient to where they park. After several incidents, the county started posting a deputy at the scene to assist with traffic during shift change. People were too lazy to walk half a block to gain access to a cross walk there what makes anyone think a cross walk at the Library would have helped in this situation. A cross walk would be a waste of money. What they need is designated crossings that are well marked with warning signs for traffic, and lined for the pedestrians. A cross walk will not help. He was kind, honest and family oriented.. he’d help with his nieces and nephews and I can vouch for that I’d see him all the time. You will be missed Sammy I promise you that buddy, rest easy now you deserve sweet rest friend. Prayers for the family, friends and extended loved ones. This isn’t the first time something of this nature has happened at that VERY LOCATION and that is never really much follow up on the ones lost, is there ANY way we could possibly elect to have some sort of PEDESTRIAN CROSSWAY where pedestrians and DRIVERS could have a BROADER MORE VISIBLE LINE of CROSSING across that part of the Highway?
