Educate your selves on the Federal Reserve Act of Dec 1913 and Revenue Act of 1913.

Yet the the previous bailout (the CARES Act), under the Donald Trump administration was even larger ($2.2T) and did similarly with the funds: only 15% of the money went to individuals as cash payments (another very small fraction)! The largest percentage of the money went to businesses. Both of the rescue plans were designed in response to the economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s just that one was passed under the Trump administration and the latter was passed under the Biden administration. Political finger pointing ensues: “ours was better, yours is bad”.

As a former employee of escambia county, I can assure you this money has already been earmarked, spent, wasted and covered up before IT EVER GOT HERE. If you don’t believe me, simply ask for proof of where this money is ” spent” verses where already existing ” money” was spent. Just sayin’.

Only 9% of the money will go to covid reimbursement…. Remember, the government has no money, and can only spend what it can borrow or confiscate from taxpayers!!! The bill will be paid by future generations, but we will have to endure higher interest rates and inflation! God help us all! And I don’t remember one Democrat returning their checks from Trump!

@Safebear how bout stop misleading people, republicans never said they didn’t want Americans to have this money, what they did criticize was all the money going to other countries. The citizens only received a very very small fraction of these funds. Democrats attached bills to this plan that had absolutely nothing to do with relieve for the American people. Billions of these tax dollars are going to Democratic run cities who stood by and watched them burn and destroyed, why should we pay for that? Or how these Democratic run cities have allowed their retirement programs to get out of control, again how did Covid 19 cause this? All this reminds me of the Obama ball out, only this time a bone was given. And yes I received my stimulus and it was donated to a much worthy cause,

Like your own checkbook, you can’t spend more than you make, not unless you use credit. Then you have to have a plan to pay it back. The Government should work the same way, but it owes more without any responsibility on how to pay for the trillions. You can see gas and food prices have gone up. Taxes will have to go up to pay for what the Government has done. We are happy for the little amount of money given, but we will pay for it in the long run.
