There is a weigh station on Mobile Hwy, which is what west bound 9 mile (alt 90) turns into, there is no going around it that way. Now, if you would have said Muskogee rd (Hwy 112 in Alabama ), I would agree, but even then DOT has a pretty good presence on that road and will surely be watching it more after the interchange is built.

As a truck driver, I can tell you that slowing trucks on I-10 EB nearing the weigh station will NOT give up the merge lane to accelerating ramp traffic. It’s a big fine to miss a weigh station, so trucks won’t move over. You can see the potential for accidents.

Additionally, this new interchange provides a means for trucks to “dodge” the scales by going around it via Beulah and Nine Mile. Count on some overloaded trucks to be damaging the new roads that have taken so long to build.

The county needs to work with the state and start the county’s planned extension of Kingsfield straight over to Beulah rd and bring the state/exit road up to end there. If/when the beltway is built, thats the direction it will go anyway. Lot of biddable land out there so plan ahead now Florida! Beulah bout to Boom north of the interstate.. Why not make the exit a diverging diamond interchange like most new interchanges are doing or converting to now..

Why start it even think of another project right now. How about finish 9 mile road first … it’s only been under construction for a decade now.

I-10 should be 6 laned across the entire county, Beulah rd should be 4 laned to Muskogee rd and the ramps shouldn’t have anything to do with Kingfield rd unless they plan to redo that entire road from Beulah rd to 297A.

If you do not 6 lane the interstate to at least 1 mile east of Pine Forest road , you will just be creating more wrecks on that strech of road because of the number of people tring to get on and off the interstate

This will be needed to handle increase in traffic from the new Kingsfield rd project. They have so many new neighborhoods around Kingsfield and 97. Will help with traffic on 97, 297, pinecone, etc. This needs to start immediately.
