@Molly I doubt it. The deer he was caught with were estimated to be 20 hours old. Unless the temps for the last day prior were cold enough to keep the meat from spoiling its likely this guy was a poacher. Poachers normally do it for the rack/antlers and the meat. If they keep anything it is the rack at a minimum. I’ve never met a hunter who didn’t keep the rack.

@JTV yes harassing. He can’t even go buy gas at the gas station without being harassed. He was standing by his truck talking to me at a local store when they harassed him one time.

There’s no excuse for letting the meat spoil. There are other issues at play that caused that to happen.

He had permission for the original land owner, he was not aware the owner had died, the son of the owner was not aware of the arrangement his father had made.

All you people who fast to judge someone should take a walk in that person’s shoes for a few miles. You all are keyboard heroes or so you think. I suggest you stop and think about all your mistakes that you have made.. The last perfect person walked on water.

While you may think your mistakes aren’t as bad, ask the person you wronged if they feel the same way you do. Promise you they don’t!

@Judy Are you blind or just can’t read? It plainly states the the deer was rotten. I don’t think that he was going home and providing his family with food that was not fit to eat. So way to go FWC. Keep up the good work.

As many deer as I have to dodge going in/out of my home, I welcome the killing of all they can! I wish they would get more of the doe so the population would decrease!

He must not have taken the hunters education course. Hunting on someone else’s land is definitely not smart because you could get shot. Not worth a felony either. Poachers are our biggest problem around here, try to hunt doing the right way only to find out poachers were out all night burning (SHOOTING UP THE PLACE) up the place you chose to hunt and not see anything because of idiots like them. Why I get into a hunting club for that very reason. Throw the book at him and make him an example
