This was a very frightening explosion. I live close, & felt it in inside my home, as did others, 2 miles away. Scary situations, as I live so close to the sure.

This could’ve been much worse, as there’re businesses in close bnb proximity. Hopefully there’s a plan in place to safeguard this type of mishap in the future.

The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) was originally created under the name Escambia County Utilities Authority in 1981 by an Act of the Florida Legislature to own, manage, finance, promote, improve and expand the water and wastewater systems of Escambia County and the City of Pensacola. In 1992, ECUA began offering sanitation services in Escambia County. On June 29, 2004, ECUA’s name was officially changed to Emerald Coast Utilities Authority.

ECUA is a local governmental body, existing under the laws of the State of Florida. The powers of ECUA are exercised by a five-member Board. Each Board member is elected in one of the five County electoral districts. Terms are four years and are staggered.”

Poor David…you need to learn your history and stop looking like an idiot.
The County Commission with the help of the FL legislature created the ECUA so that they would not have to deal with the problems that they were having with utilities. I remember when that happened. There is now a move afoot to abolish the ECUA because they are, well Most everyone knows what they are, and have the County Commission take back over that responsibility. You Are the one who needs to move out of eSCAMbia county and go back where you came from. Learn your History before you post.

I’m curious how it actually happened. I hope they give more explanations once they know. That was a big rumble that was felt quite a ways from it. So very thankful no one was hurt. Great job to all emergency personnel.

You are wrong again. I didn’t say ECUA was city. I said the fueling station belongs to the city and it does. ECUA does not belong to Escambia County. Period. The county has no ownership or control of ECUA.

Doesn’t matter, this is green energy. Diesel is bad,bad,bad. Like Orange man bad.
If they were lithium powered they would have burned to the ground. And you can’t use water to put the fire out because is causes a violent reaction. Probably would have burned up the entire yard. If they were Diesel fire would have probaby been confined to just the one truck.

ECUA brought their ELLISON FLEAT of trucks to that location a month ago. DONT PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN THE SAME BASKET!!!!!!!!!
