All of you commenting on the picture quality, I couldn't agree more, especially with you MR. REALITY, the lunar lander did have better images than what is being provided by today's security cameras. How do they expect to identify anyone with those pictures?

Ahhhhh, the old potato camera strikes again. These businesses buy the cheapest, most outdated cameras on the market and then give us the sob story “if you recognize these people please notify law enforcement”. Right, I’d have better luck trying to see them through a peanut butter sandwich!!

Its obvious CVS does not care about its employees. They have the most low resolution grainy footage from the top angle. You couldn't convict a carrot from that footage. If they don't update that camera system I'm expecting that CVS to be robbed more in the future. If I worked there I'd just quit right now... it's not worth it. As an employee interviewing for the job, I'd ask how good the cameras are at least. Just so you know that if you get robbed nor killed there is at least a chance theyd catch the guy.

One of my concerns about the facemask, now it's normal for folks to complete hide their face. Plus the poor picture good luck with making a arrest.

Most retail stores aren't interested in actual security, whether it's for the occasional or habitual shoplifter or for robberies. These are written off, almost never pursued, and the additional costs passed to other customers by increasing margin. The driving force behind cameras is liability - to catch the shopper who opens a drink and pours it on the floor then claims to slip, or other similar fraudulent liability claims. These claims are the big hitters and what retail protects itself against; you don't need a super clear camera for these acts. Everything else is simply a deterrent and most acts of shoplifting will never be pursued.

It always makes me wonder why some businesses go so cheap & poor quality with security cameras. Why bother at all, if you can't get a good clear picture? I understand in this case it might be that a still photo was captured from a video with motion, but I have seen similar ones in other cases, that are in super sharp focus & crystal clear & highly detailed. High quality cameras can make quite a big difference in helping to capture a criminal.
