This is pure tragedy. It is very dark along the escambia river area and needs more lighting. But I also have to ask why someone would be standing behind their stalled vehicle? Also, why would they be in the lane for traffic? There are emergency lanes and there is plenty of room to have simply steered your vehicle out of the way onto emergency lanes or the grass. There are many questions that I assume will go unanswered. For all motorists, if you feel your having vehicle troubles, please steer your vehicle into the emergency lane or grass OFF the roadway ESPECIALLY if it's a very dark area. Also, put your hazards on and keep your lights on. Also, back away from your stalled vehicle in case someone is not paying attention to the roadway. This will likely save your life.
